About Lemmings

Lemmings — DOS edition
Lemmings · DOS · 1991

Lemmings asks you to assign limited skills to a moving crowd and build a safe route from the entrance to the exit.

Give one walker a job, redirect the crowd

Every lemming walks on until something changes its route. You assign jobs to individuals while the rest of the crowd keeps moving. A blocker turns walkers around; a builder lays a short staircase. Bashers cut sideways, miners diagonally down and diggers straight down. The available jobs and rescue requirement change with each level.

Plan the end of the staircase

Pause to inspect the route, then resume before assigning a skill. A builder stops after twelve steps, so one assignment may leave the staircase short of the far bank. Check where the crowd will go when the building stops before increasing the release rate.

Where to go after the original levels

This is the original campaign. Oh No! More Lemmings provides another set of puzzles; Lemmings 2: The Tribes introduces a different selection of skills.
