Street Fighter Alpha 3 perfects Capcom’s 2D fighting legacy with three distinct ISM fighting styles, air blocking, and an expansive roster of world warriors.
Alpha 3 revolutionizes character depth by letting you pick your fighting philosophy via three selectable ISMs. A-ISM uses the traditional three-level Super Combo gauge with multiple super moves and variable meter spending. V-ISM grants customizable Variable Combos for creative juggle sequences and rapid shield damage. X-ISM strips air recovery and defensive Alpha Counters in exchange for massive, single-hit damage output reminiscent of classic Super Turbo. Guard Power meters introduce real guard break risk for passive turtling.
Monitor your opponent’s Guard Power gauge beneath their health bar. Chipping away at blocking adversaries shrinks their meter until a flashing red warning signals an impending Guard Break, leaving them completely vulnerable to maximum damage punish combos. When caught in aerial juggles, tap two kick buttons to execute an Air Recovery and evade follow-up corner traps.
This is the arcade CPS-2 release. It builds directly upon Street Fighter Alpha 2, refining collision boxes and introducing universal Guard Crush and ground recovery roll options.
