Adventure retro games

Explore 153 classic adventure games from the console and computer eras, organised into a permanent collection URL.

Choose an adventure by its pace and perspective

Adventure is a broad catalogue label. The original Zelda centres on an overworld and dungeons; Zelda II changes to side-view encounters. A Link to the Past adds a different map and item progression. Pokémon Gold offers a journey built around collecting and training a team. Compare the actual game before assuming they share controls or a combat system.

Keep a small record of unfinished routes

Write down a locked door, an unreachable ledge or a character asking for an item. When you gain new equipment, return to one recorded obstacle. This makes exploration easier to follow between sessions without turning every discovery into a walkthrough lookup.

Use a guide for the edition you opened

The first Zelda, Zelda II and A Link to the Past have different maps and rules. A route from one is not a route through the others. Pokémon Gold also differs from later remakes; check the game title and platform before following instructions.

Save before a longer exploration session where the player supports it, download a backup, and test restoring it. Browser snapshots and a game’s own save menu are separate features.
